These little green and yellow three wheeled auto-rickshaws are the main form of taxi in India. You have to be willing to negotiate and be firm but you can get to most places in the city for 100 rupees, roughly 2 dollars. Whatever you do… don’t let them take you to their friends shop. It was really fun and invigorating driving around in these little tin cans. They were quick and nimble with open sides, more like a moped than a car. Traffic in India is pure madness and being in one of these puts you right in the middle of it. Weaving in and out, cramming 5 to a lane, pushing our way through a busy intersection and sometimes even driving on the wrong side of the road. There is no better way to see India than to just cruise around in one of these, soaking in the sights, the sounds and the chaos.
