Tokyo is massive and we definitely did not have enough time to truly explore the city. What I did get to see left me wanting more. Bright lights, tall buildings, giant LCD screens, kitschy shops, arcades, designer clothes and delicious restaurants. Tokyo seemed to have layers with some walkways above our heads and the subway below our feet. We were walking down one street that branched steeply upward one way and to the left curved down into the ground like an Escher painting. The city had a lot of activity but like other Japanese cities it was relatively quiet and very clean. Almost everyone was on their cell phone. The salary men in their suits. The harajuku girls stylishly walking around in high heels. I spent most of my time in the subway trying to get from one district to the next. This is a shot from Roppongi Hills Mori Tower (where I was very fortunate). Tokyo is a city living in the future.
