Japan is expensive and the sushi is no different. So while I did splurge and have a few meals of sushi, I didn’t get to eat it as much as I wanted to. This was unfortunate because it was absolutely amazing. The sushi is a little bit different than it is in the states. In the states our sushi has all sorts of special ingredients, but in Japan people mostly eat sashimi, which is a piece of raw fish on top of a small clump of rice. Very simple, but very delicious. The fish was so tender and had such a wonderful fresh flavor. The rice was sticky and delicious with a little bit of wasabi and a dab of soy sauce. I had some octopus, some fatty tuna, some white tail, some salmon and this strange tofu one. I am getting hungry just thinking about it.
